TransparentRent Case Study

Project Overview

A complete front-end design and development project for TranspaRENT, an intuitive tool for tracking and analyzing rental market data. The platform helps both renters and landlords make informed decisions about rental properties. All of the images in this case study are of live servers during the development process, unless otherwise specified.

Initial Design

The initial design included a landing page without any apartment listings. The goal of this page was to introduce the platform to new users, and prompt them to sign up or select a city. Above are several iterations of the landing page, which I designed and coded.

Second Iteration - Homepage

After further discussing the site navigation, the client settled on a simpler color scheme and homepage design. The updated homepage launches the user directly into the search experience, and otherwise matches the rest of the site to create continuity. This iteration also added an expanded search header, which includes icons that introduce the product.

Search Results Experience

The search results page combines a powerful filtering system with an interactive map view. Users can easily browse available properties, compare prices, and identify opportunities in their desired neighborhoods. The interface provides clear price change indicators and availability status.

Building Profile

Detailed building profiles provide comprehensive information about properties, including available units, pricing trends, and property features. The layout emphasizes important details while maintaining a clean, scannable interface that helps users make informed decisions.

Unit Details

The expanded unit details card offers in-depth information about specific apartments, including pricing history and square footage. The interactive pricing timeline helps users understand market trends and make data-driven decisions about their rental choices.

Ongoing Development

Design and development for the TranspaRENT site are ongoing. The client asked for a redesign to avoid using building photos, requested further color scheme changes, opted for an updated coding framework, and is currently in the process of changing the site's backend hosting. This medium fidelity prototype is an example of what a new landing page would look like.
